DataRoot Labs is looking for a Head of Engineering! Our client is a Silicon Valley startup working on making the world a safer place. Their AI’s Gun Detection System Technology detects weapons before they go off. Powered by Artificial Intelligence, the solution analyzes multiple data points in real-time to help detect crimes faster and more accurately than legacy systems that only rely on humans.

In this role, you will be leading, mentoring, and inspiring a distributed engineering team to perform at a high level and deliver world-class products. You will work directly with the founding team to take the company from the early stages to a mature enterprise and beyond. Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented leader who has exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a distributed engineering team to perform at a high level and deliver world-class products.
• Design and execute processes for workflow and standards.
• Collaborate with the product team to understand and translate requirements, ensuring specifications and architecture design meet broader technical strategic goals.
• Manage project milestones, progress, and issues.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team members.
• Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams.
• Recruit, develop, and scale a talented AI technology team committed to developing innovative AI solutions aligned with the company’s business model, client needs, values, and vision.
